
This recipe is from my amma[mother].She use to prepair this curry on sunday mornings with pooris Iam sending this curry to Pooja's vegetable of the week wow-Bottle gourd at www creativepooja.blogspot.com
INGREDIENTS:-
bottle gourd-[sorakaya]--1
onion---1
green chillis--4-5
FOR SEASONING:-
mustard seeds-1/2teasp
cumin seeds-1/2teasp
a few curry leaves
FOR MASALA:-
kush kush[poppy seeds][gasalu]-1tebsp
greated coconut-1/2tebsp
cashew nuts---8-10
garlic cloves--8
grind all above ingredients in to a smooth paste with a little water.
METHOD:-
1.cut bottle gourd in to small peaces, chopp onion and green chillis
2.heat oil in a pan add mustard.cumin,curryleaves then add chopped onion fry till onions became soft.
3.now add bottle gourd peaces,salt,chilli powder,turmeric powder and ground masala mix well and cook in a low flame cover with lid and cook till bottle gourd became soft remove from fire.
