PAVAKKA THORAN


PAVAKKA--- KARELA--KAKARAKAYA--BITTER GOURD

INGREDIENTS :----
BITTER GOURD --- 2no
ONION --- 1no
GINGER ---- 1inch piece
GREEN CHILLIES -- 2no
GRATED COCONUT --- 1cup
MUSTARD SEEDS --- 1 teasp
COCONUT OIL -- 1 tab sp
TURMERIC POWDER --- 1/4 tea sp
SALT TO TASTE
METHOD:----
cut bitter gourd in to very small pieces (if you like you can great the gourd)
chop onion,green chillies, ginger in to very small pieces and mix with bitter gourd pieces, and grated coconut.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds let them crackle and add bitter gourd mixture,add salt and stir well
cover with alid and cook for 7-10 min.stir in between
remove and serve hot with plain rice

Nijamgaa Rekha, meeku thelisinanni traditional vantalu naaku theliyavu. Naavanni imagination tho cheseve! BTW, bahuvachanam theesi ekavachanam pedithe baaguntundi kadaa, emantaar(v)u?

There r not many dishes that i know, using Bitter gourd. This looks nice, will try it.

aaah! I am always chking out recipes with bitterguard. I dont like it ( so whats new! u might ask!) but I do want to incorporate it in my diet. Will try this one soon :)
