CHOW CHOW is also well known as CHAYOTE and in India known as chow chow or in Telugu --Bengaluru vankaya In Kannada --Semebadanekkayi and this vegetable belongs from gourds family along with melons and cucumbers. This vegetable looks like a green pear.Very rich in amino acids and vitamin C and also I have read in some book about this vegetable is very rich in water content and fiber, also helps in dissolving kidney stones. The fresh Chayotes are in nice green color(like green apple). You can use this vegetable in salads and curry and also sambar.Eating raw this vegetable is very very good for helth so let us start to add this great vegetable in our food................................
