BIYYAM RAVA UPMA

Biyyam rava --cream of rice --- akkitari --- arisi rava

Wash rice and spread them on a white cloth and dry in the shade and grind in to rava consistency.
Rice rava – 1 cup
Onion – 1 small chopped
Green chilies – 2-3 slit
Ginger --- 1 inch piece chopped
Oil and ghee – 1+1 tab sp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tea sp
Cumin seeds --- 1/2 tea sp
Chana dal --- 1 tea sp
Cashew nuts – 1 tab sp broken
A few curry leaves
Water –2 cups
Salt to taste
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds let them popup and add cumin seeds, chanadal, cashew nuts and fry till light brown colour.
Now add chopped onion, curry leaves, chopped ginger and green chilies and fry till onion become transparent.(here you can add finely chopped vegetables like carrot, beans, green peas, potato).
Now add 2 cups of water and salt to taste mix well and bring to a full boil.
Now add rice rava mix well and cover with a lid and cook for 4 min.
Now open and add 1 tab sp ghee mix well and again cover with lid and cook till done it will take another 3-5 min.
Serve hot with coconut chutney
